Dipkar in Ho Chi Minh City - The coming spring is welcomed everywhere since it signals the time for many immigrants to come back to their hometown to enjoy warm Tet holidays with their family after one year of working hard in Ho Chi Minh City. However, a lot of poor people are spending sad Tet holidays in the city. They are poor workers who leave their hometown for Ho Chi Minh City to earn their living, or poverty-stricken elders who sell lottery tickets only to make ends meet, or disabled and elderly people without caregivers…
As part of our efforts to bring warm Tet holidays to these poor people, on the evening of February 4th 2018, Dipkar’s members joined hands with the Youth Employee Assistance Center of Ho Chi Minh City to provide 30 Tet gifts along with lucky money envelopes to poor workers in Tan Thuan Dong Ward, District 7 with a total value of VND15 million.
Besides that, on the morning of February 11th 2018, Dipkar’s members cooperated with Red Cross Society of An Phu Ward and Youth Union of An Phu Ward to organize the Tet gift-giving program entitled “A spring of compassion 2018” with a total value of VND30 million. Accordingly, Dipkar’s members gave 50 Tet gifts along with lucky money envelopes to poor workers who live far away from home, disabled and elderly people without caregivers in An Phu Ward, District 2.
The success of these two charity programs can be attributed to the dedication of Dipkar’s members, Red Cross Society of An Phu Ward, Youth Union of An Phu Ward, and Youth Employee Assistance Center, especially the external sponsors who provided us with both human and financial support. We, Dipkar’s members, would like to express our deepest gratitude towards these sponsors for their invaluable support. We hope to continue to receive their great support for Dipkar’s charity programs in the future. We wish all of you a very happy lunar new year.
