Dipkar in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – On the second day of January 2017, Dipkar members came to Hoc Mon market and released a total of 20 dogs before being taken to a slaughterhouse and killed for meat. On that day, we invited the Buddist nun to the praying session for those released dogs. At the animal rescue center, after a check-up, all of the released dogs were vaccinated and taken to their kennels for rest.
Since then, we have always checked their health condition. So far, the released dogs have restored their health. They are no longer scared and also blend in well with other dogs at the rescue center. We hope that no more dogs become the victims of the dog meat trade.
This is the first time we have carried out a dog release program. Therefore, we probably made some mishaps during the time of taking them to the animal rescue center. We will try to do better in the next dog release program.
We would like to send sincere thanks to the Dipkar members and external sponsors who donate money and time to rescue those poor dogs. Moreover, we would like to give great thanks to those who saved a pig family (including a daddy pig, a mother pig expecting her babies and their piglets) some days earlier.
Dipkar highly appreciate all of the donors and inviduals for their contribution to our animal release programs and hope to receive their support in the next charity programs. We wish them good health and happiness.
